I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane

I've been offered the opportunity of a lifetime!

A 4 month marketing internship with ROYALEFAM (www.royalefam.com) - them of SBTG fame (www.sbtgcustomkicks.com) in the South-East Asian CONCRETE (and garden) JUNGLE of Singapore. And so I'm about to start what could be the greatest adventure of my life - a rare window into the world of streetwear and design, sneakers, online marketing, product promotion, big brand collaboration, boutique retailing and business. This will give me a huge insight into the dailies of luxury goods marketing, social media presence and running a small business.

I love the responsibilities placed on me as the sole marketing assistant for the company. Autonomy, creativity - these are things that you don't get when taking positions in the big firms - those where you are lost as a number, as one of many, where the work is menial and repetitive. I look forward to making a difference to the way the company is perceived, to solidifying its positioning in the marketing, and helping to grow the brand and the business into the future!

Not only is this the kickstart to my career in marketing and eventually running my own consultancy, but its in Singapore! Merlion country! The eating capital of SE Asia! And let me tell you, the eating is going to be phenomenal!! I have the resources of an extensive Singapore foodblogging community at my fingertips - and a network of friends and foodies to take me around - it will be eating mania!!! MMM! Well that's the general gist of it.
